Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She is currently the president and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. A California native, Buss grew up in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur in real estate who eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. In 1972, her parents separated up and she felt emotionally lost. As she turned 19 old she joined the family's business, serving as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. She founded later an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. Prior to becoming vice-president of the Lakers She was also the president of Great Western Forum. Buss her father passed away in 2013, which is when the Lakers were acquired by Buss and her five siblings via the trust. Every sibling was entitled to an equal number of votes. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss runs Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles, an organization that encourages professional wrestling.
